GYM FREE WORKOUTS FOR THE EVERYDAY BUSY BLOKE

I hear this all the time, ‘I’ll lose the weight when I can get to the gym.’ But there always seems to be a reason not to get to the gym. In fact approximately 70% of people with gym memberships never use them!
And gyms oversell memberships knowing this, in fact, their business model depends on it (if everyone with a membership did show up they’d be crawling all over each other).
I think part of the reason why people don’t go to the gym, aside from being busy, is that it’s not fun. It’s intimidating thanks to all the big shaved gorillas moaning, groaning, sweating and marking the gym equipment like ferocious pit bulls. And then there are all the people looking and judging each other, making you feel like you’re a contestant in a fashion competition. No wonder exercise has become a chore instead of a natural part of being a human being.
The other problem with the gym, if you even get there, is it’s full of machines and bits of equipment that teach your body to move in a non-functional, overcomplicated manner that doesn’t reflect real life and has no practical application. Trust me, doing leg extensions or hitting the pec deck is not going to help you do any of the things you need to do on a daily basis or help you lose weight.
It’s a pretty neat brainwashing trick when you think about it: we’re taught that to be fit and healthy we have to pay for an expensive service that we rarely use (and would rather not anyway), that doesn’t deliver the results we’re looking for.
What we really need to do is get out there and move, walk, run and jump like you did when you were a kid! It won’t cost you a cent and it’ll be a lot more enjoyable. Anyone can get fit in 10 minutes a day if they train right. The secret is the right combination of resistance (strength) training and high-intensity interval training (where short periods of harder-than-normal exercise are followed by set periods of rest). Both are effective ways to get fit but combined, they’re dynamite especially for gut busting.
