The Man Challenge workouts borrow from both Tabata and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) methods where the focus is on short intervals of high-intensity movements in conjunction with periods of rest. The main difference between the two methods being the rest period.

Tabata works with a negative rest protocol, which means your rest periods between exercises are shorter than the time it takes to do the exercise. For example, if you are doing 20 seconds of jump squats you would have 10 seconds of rest between each exercise.

With HIIT, the rest periods are as long as if not longer than the exercise intervals. So, for example, you could do 20 seconds of jump squats with 20 or 30 seconds of rest between exercises. The exercises include any kind of high-intensity exercises including push-ups, sprints or dead lifts.

As part of The Man Challenge workouts you will experience a mixture of both Tabata and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). Each workout within The Man Challenge includes a section of individual exercises that are bodyweight based so there’s no heavy weights or fancy equipment needed - your body is your gym. Latest research supports that The Man Challenge training system is the most effective way to get fit, lose weight and build muscle. We have the results to prove it.

The Man Challenge workouts are 10 minutes in duration and kick off with a one minute heart starter followed by two rounds of exercises at various interval periods with the rest periods decreasing as the weeks progress. Each workout is finished off with a one minute Man Challenge for users to test themselves against. If after 10 minutes you still have fuel left in your tank there are extra exercises available.

Tabata and HIIT methods are great for burning fat and getting in great physical shape, but just remember to go at your own pace. Don’t KILL yourself. Start slow and work your way up. The Man Challenge workouts are designed to ease you into it with the intensity increasing as the weeks progress.
